Our Team
Karen D. Paiz was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and moved to Martinsburg, West Virginia, at the age of 9 years old. Growing up as a first-generation daughter of parents of Nicaraguan descent, she saw the hardship immigrants in West Virginia endured and the lack of accessible representation in the area. Her passion for helping other immigrants grew, pushing her to further her education. Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Shepherd University in 2017. Karen then pursued her Juris Doctorate, graduating from the University of Baltimore in 2023. She is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Maryland. While obtaining her Juris Doctorate, Karen worked at a reputable law firm in Baltimore, Maryland. She worked on many cases, including but not limited to Cancellation of Removal, Motions to Reopen, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status Visas, and more. After graduating, Karen was determined to return to her hometown and use her knowledge and skills to provide accessible representation. Karen's passion and expertise drive her to put her client's needs first in order to obtain the best possible outcome for their immigration needs.
